Located in the heart of the Occitanie region, the Castres-Mazamet urban community regroups 14 municipalities and represents more than 81,000 inhabitants. It constitutes the economic heart of a basin of 161,000 inhabitants, between the Sidobre massif, the Lacaune mountains, the Thoré valley, the Lauragais plain and the Montagne Noire.
