NIS2 (Directive 2022/2555) is the new European directive on the security of network and information systems, replacing NIS 1. It significantly broadens the scope and strengthens cybersecurity obligations.
Context & regulatory framework
It applies to essential entities (critical sectors) and important entities (energy, health, water, transport, digital…). Fines can reach €10M or 2% of worldwide turnover for essential entities.
