GDPR

Data subject rights

The set of rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability, etc.) granted by the GDPR.

Definition

The GDPR guarantees data subjects 8 main rights: the right to be informed, the right of access, the right to rectification, the right to erasure, the right to restriction of processing, the right to data portability, the right to object, and rights relating to automated decision-making.

Context & regulatory framework

These rights must be honoured within 1 month (extendable to 3 months where requests are complex). Failure to meet the deadline may lead to a complaint to the French supervisory authority (CNIL).
